Call us and tell us what the lot needs, and whether a permit design is already in hand. We come out and look at the ground, and we read that design before any dirt gets moved. The county health department permit sets the tank size, and it marks where the drain field lines have to run. We build the system to match that paper, right down to the depth and the length of the trenches.
On install day the excavator opens the tank hole and cuts the trenches that will hold the field lines. We set the tank level, then run the sewer line from the house out to that tank. The field lines go in at the depth and spacing the design calls for, one trench at a time. The health department signs off before we cover the work, and then we backfill and smooth the ground down.
Price comes down to what the permit design calls for and how hard the lot is to work in. A bigger house needs a bigger system, because the health department sizes the tank off the bedroom count. Soil is the other big piece of it, and that part is set by the ground you already have. Slow draining ground needs more field line, so there is more trench to dig and more pipe to lay.
Access changes the number too, along with the distance from the house out to where the field goes. Trees in the way have to be knocked down and the stumps pulled before the dig can start. When a field quits taking water, we open the ground back up and put in new line. Once the tank and the lines are in, we shape the ground so water runs away from the field.
